Silhill Hall
To educate, remember and preserve.
Introduction
The 13th century Silhill Hall
was built for Sir William de Odingsells
either for his wife or for the
Friars of Thelsford.
The house passed through generations
until it was purchased by
Thomas Morris in 1904.
It remained in the Morris family until 1949 but in 1966, after about 700 years,
it was illegally demolished.
Much of Solihull town
has been built on its farmland.
One surviving member of the family
who lived there has shared
his memories and photographs
which combined with historical records
leave a lasting legacy.
